Growing my Garden

Uncategorized

Welcome to Beeline!

This will service as an introduction and roadmap for my blog 🙂

Who Am I?

I’d like to start this off by introducing myself! I feel like most things begin with an introduction of sorts so why should this be any different?

Hello! My name is Shelbie and this is the first stage of my breaking out of my comfort zone and trying to retain some form of positive mental health after the past few years. Doing things that make me uncomfortable is not something I pursue often and especially not with such great potential for a large audience but I can’t imagine I’ll get very far if I stay inside a little box. To me, even dipping my toe into something new has been quite a hindrance for me to tackle. Slowly but surely, I hope to break this unrealistic fear of mine and add a bit of variety to my life.

That’s me!

So What’s the Purpose of this?

On to the goals of this thing I have begun. I have this issue that I want to try and be good at everything I come across. It is a burden on my life that has brought me to pick up a multitude of hobbies that I often cannot juggle What I want to learn from my new routine here is just exactly where my satisfaction comes from. How does having all of these activities and time-killers around me benefit me? How can what I learn help others as well.

Perhaps you’ve always wanted to take on knitting or something a little more on the exciting side like rock climbing, but never really had the burst of energy to just try it. That’s where I’ll come in. I’ll pick up those knitting needles and have the experience and the reflection to bring back to you on why I found myself enjoying it, or why I haven’t. Also, this could aid both of us as we grow through the experience. You get a deeper look at something from fresh eyes and hopefully I learn to grow just a little more. Furthermore, I can hope to heal personal needs of my own while also encouraging others to expand their horizons.

Who knows? Perhaps I’ll continue a few of these things that I have tried and come back to you later with an update on how I feel about it.

I have decided to create a simple outline of sorts when documenting and reflecting on my experiences. This will include a five-point process including my pre, during, and post reflections.

Preparations

This portion of my posts will include any predispositions or ideas I may have on the experience before I begin my undertaking. This includes what I have learned from others. Secondly it will also include any preexisting exposure I may have had. It will also have any kinds of materials or ingredients I may need before beginning. This will also include an average cost as well. Lastly, this point will be a great place for me to address any hesitations I may have like if whatever I am doing could be dangerous or perhaps an unfavorable experiment for some.

Process

This is where the experience actually happens! It may be something as simple as baking a cookie recipe or even trying something a little more out of the box for me like ziplining. Here I will delve into all the thoughts and feelings that come about as I go through the motions.

Pros:

Here you will get to read all the positives I found along my journey. Maybe what I tried was a great way to exercise or a perfect opportunity for self-reflection and growth. Sometimes it may just be a yummy dessert you watched me create.

Cons:

Unfortunately, not everything can be amazing about each experience. There may be concerns regarding the cost of these things and how realistic pursuing them on a regular basis could be. This is where you’ll find my apprehensions.

Final Thoughts

After everything is said and done and I have had some time to think about my adventure, I will come here to write in my last thoughts and feelings on it. Is this something that I can really sink myself into? Would it be something I’d love to continue doing and come back again with a status update? I’ll be sure to include a proper scaling method to better analyze my experience.

Wish me luck!
